Module Objectives
- Learn additional embellishments that can be applied to any tune.
- Develop the fundamental skills to correctly hold and blow bagpipes.
- Understand the basic concepts behind sound, music and tuning.
Skills
- Play the G-D-E gracenote combination
- Play a range of strikes in a piece of music
- Play a range of doublings in a piece of music
- Correctly hold the bagpipes
- Identify key bagpipe parts
- Blow an even drone sound on the bagpipes
- Demonstrate a knowledge of tuning concepts
Progression
At the end of this module you will be asked to perform a simple tune, with embellishments, to your tuition group.
Duration
There is no set duration. This module can be done at your own pace but generally takes from 8 to 12 weeks.
