Each Thursday evening – 6:30pm to 7:30pm, at 239 A’Beckett Street, City.
Children aged 8 years upwards can learn the basics of piping or drumming in our introductory programme. It’s a fantastic introduction to music skills, or ongoing involvement with a pipe band. No prior skills are needed.
Just $90 will provide your child with 9 lessons from top musicians plus all the necessary equipment (practice chanters for pipers, or drumsticks and pads for drummers) and tuition materials.
Through a variety of selected exercises and tunes, children will learn:
– the basics of playing their instrument (practice chanter or drum)
– simple music notation and rhythm
– care for their instrument
– playing to a beat.
At the end of the term children can decide to continue with ongoing tuition via the band’s development programme which leads them into performing with our Youth band.
