The City of Melbourne Highland Pipe Band is one of the largest pipe bands in Australia, with in excess of thirty pipers and twenty drummers. As well as taking part in wide range of corporate and community events, the band is strongly competitive, currently fielding two contest bands - in grades three and four. Our members range in age from ten to seventy years, and represent an extremely broad cross section of the community. About half the band are women.
